Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is Infinity Ward's 2026 entry in Activision's shooter series and the follow-up to Modern Warfare III (2023), continuing the rebooted Modern Warfare storyline. The full release is set for 23 October 2026 on PC (Steam, Battle.net and the Xbox app), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with no versions for last-generation consoles.

The campaign is set during a North Korean invasion of South Korea and splits its story between Private Park, a young South Korean soldier on his first deployment, and Captain Price, working outside official channels. Players who pre-ordered digitally could start the campaign a week early, on 16 October 2026.

Beyond the story, Modern Warfare 4 ships with 6v6 multiplayer, larger vehicle maps, a map system called Kill Block that changes layouts between rounds, and the return of the DMZ extraction mode. Xbox Wire describes the launch as a standalone release, and the game is not part of Xbox Game Pass at launch, unlike Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7.
