Helldivers 2 Warbonds Explained: Costs, Super Credits and Tokens

Premium Warbonds cost 1,000 Super Credits, Legendary ones 1,500, and none expire. What each costs in real money, how to earn them free and what the token can't buy.

A Premium Warbond in Helldivers 2 costs 1,000 Super Credits, a Legendary Warbond costs 1,500, and once you own one it never goes away. Buying a Warbond only gives you access: every weapon, armour set and cape inside is then unlocked page by page with Medals earned in missions.

This guide is built on Arrowhead's own announcements on Steam, including the Scope of Authority Warbond and patch 7.2.0, both live on 20 October 2026, plus the PlayStation Blog and reporting from Insider Gaming and GamingBolt. Pack prices and Warbond counts come from the community-run Helldivers wiki and are labelled as such. Checked against patch 7.2.0 on 20 October 2026; prices are the US dollar figures and can differ by region and store.

How do Warbonds work in Helldivers 2?

Warbonds are Helldivers 2's version of a battle pass, minus the deadline. Every player owns the free Helldivers Mobilize Warbond; the others must first be bought with Super Credits, and Arrowhead's footnote on each announcement adds that they also require the base game and some game progression. Before launch Arrowhead said Warbonds would never be retired when newer ones arrive, as Push Square reported in January 2024, and nothing it has announced since has changed that.

Once a Warbond is yours, you spend Medals on its items, and spending a set number of Medals on one page opens the next. Medals come from completed missions, campaign rewards and the community-wide Major Orders, so a new bond is a target to grind towards rather than an instant loadout.

How much does a Warbond cost in real money?

Super Credits are sold in six packs. The prices below are the US figures collected by the Helldivers wiki's Super Credits page; the 2,100 SC pack at $19.99 is also cited by Insider Gaming. The last column is our own arithmetic: the bigger the pack, the cheaper each credit.

Super Credit packs, US prices (Helldivers wiki, checked 20 October 2026; cost per 1,000 SC calculated by AFK Journal)
PackPriceCost per 1,000 SCCovers
150 SC$1.99$13.27Small Superstore top-ups
375 SC$4.99$13.31Small Superstore top-ups
1,000 SC$9.99$9.99Exactly one Premium Warbond
2,100 SC$19.99$9.52One Legendary (600 SC left) or two Premiums
5,800 SC$49.99$8.62Five Premiums with 800 SC left
13,000 SC$99.99$7.69Thirteen Premiums

In practice a Premium Warbond is a $9.99 purchase, and a Legendary one has no matching pack: the cheapest single buy that covers 1,500 SC is the 2,100 SC pack, which Insider Gaming put at roughly $15 for the Warbond itself. Owning all 22 Premium and 3 Legendary Warbonds takes 26,500 SC. If you finish every page, the 6,600 SC inside the Premium bonds plus the 750 in Helldivers Mobilize mean about 19,150 SC has to come from outside, whether bought or picked up on missions.

Can you get Warbonds for free?

Yes, if you are patient. Super Credits drop on missions, and according to the Helldivers wiki the usual source is minor points of interest such as pods, cargo containers and bunkers, which typically give 10 SC each, with rare 100 SC stacks. The wiki says these spawn more densely on Trivial and Medium difficulties, that Eradicate missions cannot spawn them, and that credits are kept even if the mission is abandoned or failed. Since patch 7.0.0 on 12 August 2026, Arrowhead's notes also confirm a chance to find Super Credits on Factory Worlds.

The Warbonds themselves pay some of it back. The wiki counts 750 SC on the pages of the free Helldivers Mobilize bond and 300 SC in each Premium Warbond, so a fully finished Premium returns almost a third of its own price. Arrowhead tightened monitoring of Super Credit earnings in July 2026, but its "Super Credits & A Fairer Galactic War" post says the cap targets rates no human could reach and that legitimate players keep what they earn "forever".

What is a Warbond Token, and what can it not buy?

The Super Citizen Edition, and the upgrade to it for existing owners, used to include the Steeled Veterans Warbond. Since the Xbox launch on 26 August 2025 it includes a Warbond Token instead, which unlocks any Premium Warbond you choose, as GamingBolt reported from Arrowhead's announcement; the studio said it had no plans to sell the token on its own. It does not work on Legendary Warbonds: both the Warhammer 40,000 announcement and the PlayStation Blog's Killzone post say so explicitly. If you have a token, spend it on a Premium bond you actually want rather than the oldest one.

Premium vs Legendary Warbonds: what is actually different?

Legendary Warbonds are the crossovers. The PlayStation Blog priced the Killzone one at 1,500 Super Credits for its return on 18 December 2025, Insider Gaming gave the same price for the Halo: ODST bond that arrived with the Xbox version, and Arrowhead released the Warhammer 40,000: Castellan's Creed bond on 12 August 2026. Arrowhead's Castellan's Creed post does not state a price; the wiki lists all three Legendary bonds at 1,500 SC.

Beyond price, two differences matter. Legendary weapons do not get weapon customisation: patch 7.2.0 on 20 October 2026 raised the base stats of the Killzone and Halo weapons for exactly that reason. And Premium vehicle patterns carry over to the Bastion tank, which patch 6.3.0 in June 2026 said does not apply to Legendary Warbonds retroactively.

What is in the newest Warbonds?

The three most recent bonds cover very different jobs. Contents below are taken from Arrowhead's announcements for Scope of Authority, Ironclad Democracy and Castellan's Creed; armour passives are quoted as Arrowhead describes them, without community-tested numbers.

Ironclad Democracy also adds two boosters, Surplus EAT Allocation (two free Expendable Anti-Tank call-ins per mission) and Integrated Extinguishers, plus the first tank-exclusive patterns in a Premium Warbond. Scope of Authority brings two armour sets, the light SS-33 Mimetic Marshal and the medium SS-15 Focal Point, both with the same passive.

Which Warbond should you buy first?

There is no official ranking, and with 22 Premium bonds any "best Warbond" list is opinion. One Arrowhead statement is useful, though: in its level cap announcement in August 2026 the studio said the gear that matters for your loadout unlocks by around level 25. Paid bonds widen your options rather than gate the core game, so buy for a gap in how you play.

  • Long-range or stealthy players: Scope of Authority, the only bond of the three built around snipers and concealment.
  • Squads short on anti-armour or vehicle players: Ironclad Democracy, for the Anti-Tank Seeker grenade, the free EAT booster and the tank patterns.
  • Support-weapon users: Castellan's Creed's True Grit passive speeds up support weapon reloads, but it costs 1,500 SC and the Warbond Token cannot buy it.

Check numbers before you pay. The game shows little about magazines, damage type or durable damage, a complaint that drew more than 3,400 upvotes in a 13 October 2026 r/Helldivers thread, so community stat pages are the main way to compare weapons in advance. The wider mood is mixed too: a March 2026 thread arguing that monetisation has drifted away from the launch promise passed 4,100 upvotes and 960 comments.

Where to go next

Medals are the bottleneck once a bond is bought, and Major Orders pay them out to the whole player base: our guide to how Major Orders and liberation work explains where your missions count most. FAQ

Do Helldivers 2 Warbonds expire?

No. Arrowhead said before launch that Warbonds are never retired when new ones arrive, and nothing it has announced since has changed that. Once bought, you can unlock a bond's pages with Medals at your own pace.

How much is a Premium Warbond in Helldivers 2?

1,000 Super Credits. On the US prices collected by the Helldivers wiki that is exactly the 1,000 SC pack at $9.99, though you can also earn the credits on missions and from the Super Credits inside other Warbonds.

Can I use the Warbond Token on a Legendary Warbond?

No. The token from the Super Citizen Edition unlocks any Premium Warbond, but Arrowhead and the PlayStation Blog both state that Legendary crossover Warbonds such as Killzone and Warhammer 40,000 cannot be claimed with it.

Where do you find Super Credits in Helldivers 2?

Mostly in minor points of interest such as pods, cargo containers and bunkers, usually 10 at a time, according to the community wiki, which says they are more common on Trivial and Medium difficulty and absent from Eradicate missions. Patch 7.0.0 added a chance to find them on Factory Worlds.

Does buying a Warbond unlock everything in it?

No. Buying it only gives access. Each item costs Medals, and you must spend a set number of Medals on a page before the next one opens, so a full bond takes many missions to complete.
