Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios, published by PlayStation. Squads of up to four players drop from orbit onto hostile planets, complete objectives against the Terminids, the Automatons and the Illuminate, and call in stratagems — orbital strikes, supply drops, turrets and vehicles — with friendly fire always on.

It launched on PC and PlayStation 5 on 8 February 2024 and reached Xbox Series X|S on 26 August 2025. On Steam it costs $39.99 in the US and, by October 2026, had more than 1.16 million user reviews, rated Mostly Positive overall.

What sets it apart is the persistent Galactic War: every completed mission feeds a shared map where the whole player base liberates or loses planets, steered by Major Orders that Arrowhead's game masters write as the story unfolds. Updates arrive as narrative beats, such as the Devoid of Liberty update of August 2026 that sent players into the Illuminate's Void.
