Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, the Edgerunners 2 Update, is a free patch released on 22 October 2026 that adds two new side quests, a tarot-card quest extension, dual-wielding for pistols and revolvers, cyberware skins, and in-game mods on PC and console. Both new side quests unlock only after the main job The Heist, and console players should know that a modded save cannot earn achievements or trophies. CD PROJEKT RED's official patch notes list everything; this guide sorts it by what you actually need to do.
Checked against the Update 2.5 patch notes published on Steam on 21 October 2026, the expanded notes reproduced by Shacknews, and Steam player and review data read on 26 October 2026. AFK Journal has not played the update: unlock conditions and perk descriptions are CD PROJEKT RED's, and anything from the community is labelled as such.
What's new in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5?
The update is themed around the second season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix, but only one quest is directly tied to the show. The rest is a broad content, systems and technology patch. Here is everything with a gameplay effect, and how you reach it.
| Addition | What it is | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Clampdown | Side quest set before Edgerunners 2 | Finish The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message |
| King gear set | Five-piece outfit based on the anime character | Obtained during Clampdown |
| Welcome to Paradise | Guided-tour side quest narrated by Richard Night | Finish The Heist and reach Street Cred 15 |
| 12 Minor Arcana tarot cards | Extension of the Fool on the Hill quest | Scan any new card; collect all for a special reward |
| Double Trouble | Cool-tree perk plus four auxiliary perks | Lets V dual-wield Power pistols and revolvers |
| Glamdocs | Skins and colours for arm cyberware | Visit one of 5 shops marked with a spray-paint icon |
| Mod support (mod.io) | Curated player mods installed from the menu | Main menu; PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S |
| HKGN 102.0 FM | Radio station with Edgerunners tracks | Any vehicle radio |
| New clothing | 5 outfit sets plus the NUS Infiltrator set | Clothing vendors in specific districts |
How do you start the new quests in Update 2.5?
Both new side quests are gated behind The Heist, the Konpeki Plaza job that ends the first act. If you load a save from earlier in the story, nothing new will appear until you get past it, which is the most likely reason a quest seems to be missing.
Clampdown is the Edgerunners 2 quest. After The Heist, complete two gigs for Wakako Okada, the Westbrook fixer, then wait for a message from her. CD PROJEKT RED says the quest is set before the events of the new season and is where you obtain the five-piece King gear set.
Welcome to Paradise unlocks after The Heist once you reach Street Cred level 15. It is a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night, the city's founder, built around a mystery. Street Cred rises from gigs, NCPD scanner hustles and side jobs, so a few of those will get you there quickly if you are short.
The tarot extension works differently: there is no trigger to wait for. Scanning any of the 12 new Minor Arcana cards hidden across Night City starts an extension of Fool on the Hill, Misty's existing tarot quest, and collecting all of them earns a special reward. The Tarot menu now splits Major and Minor Arcana, which makes it easier to track which ones you are missing.
How does dual-wielding work in Cyberpunk 2077?
Dual-wielding comes from a new perk, Double Trouble, in the Cool attribute tree, with four auxiliary perks around it. CD PROJEKT RED describes it as an entirely new playstyle for Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category, the ones that ricochet rather than charge (Tech) or track targets (Smart). The patch notes do not say that Tech or Smart handguns can be paired, so plan on Power models.
Cool is the attribute already tied to handguns, stealth and critical hits, so an existing pistol build needs the fewest changes to use it. The notes do not list unlock costs or attribute thresholds for the new perks, so check the Cool tree in your own save before you commit points. Photo Mode also gained dual-wielding poses, if the screenshot is the point.

Where are the Glamdocs, and what can you customise?
Glamdocs are five new shops that reskin arm cyberware. Equip Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire or the Projectile Launch System, then visit one; they are marked on the map with a spray-paint icon. Each Glamdoc has its own intro scene and a separate catalogue of skins with adjustable colours, so it is worth visiting more than one.
CD PROJEKT RED has not published a total number of skins. A player post on r/cyberpunkgame on 22 October counted 40 new cyber-arm styles across the shops; treat that as a community count rather than an official figure. Only arm cyberware is covered: the notes mention no skins for other implants.

Can you use mods on console, and do they disable achievements?
Yes to the first, with limits. Update 2.5 adds cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io, which lets you browse and install a selection of player-made mods from the in-game menu. CD PROJEKT RED calls it a first step and says more mods will be added over time, so this is a curated list, not the full PC modding scene.
The patch notes list PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S for the feature. Kotaku reported that mods are also coming to Switch 2, but Switch 2 is not in the official list, so treat that as unconfirmed until the Switch 2 patch arrives.
What changed for graphics settings and performance?
The change most likely to confuse PC players is a removal: FSR 3 upscaling is gone. If your settings used it, the game needs a new upscaler choice. Everything else is an addition, from DLSS 4.5 on PC to a field-of-view slider on console.
| Change | Platform | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| FSR 3 upscaling removed | PC | Switch to FSR 2.1, FSR 4 (supported AMD cards) or DLSS; FSR 3.1 Frame Generation stays |
| DLSS 4.5, up to 6X Multi Frame Generation, Dynamic MFG, 2nd-gen Transformer model | PC (NVIDIA RTX) | Update your NVIDIA driver before testing the new modes |
| FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle | PC (AMD) | New option in settings |
| Field of view slider | Consoles | New option; previously PC-only |
| Ray tracing optimisations; PS5 Pro optimisations | All; PS5 Pro | Automatic |
| Improved HDR rendering; PS5 HDR settings fix | All, PS5 | Recheck HDR calibration after updating |
| Glasses-free 3D with Motion Comfort setting | PC (Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors) | Only relevant with compatible displays |
| MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising | Mac | New options on Mac |
CD PROJEKT RED has not published frame-rate figures for any of these changes, and neither have the outlets we checked, so any specific performance gain you see quoted elsewhere is someone's own test. The patch also fixes Film Grain having no effect, which may change how the image looks if you had it switched on.
Is Update 2.5 out on every platform?
Not yet. The update went live on 22 October on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. VGC and Kotaku reported that the Switch 2 version would follow later, and we found no confirmed Switch 2 date as of 26 October. Reports on Mac differ: VGC listed Mac among the 22 October platforms, while Insider Gaming said Mac players would wait a few more days. The patch notes do not mention PS4 or Xbox One.
How has the update landed with Steam players?
Well, going by the numbers. Steam's most-played chart on 26 October put Cyberpunk 2077 seventh, up from 37th a week earlier, with a daily peak of 187,215 concurrent players. Daily review volume roughly tripled after the update, and the share of positive reviews stayed above 90%. On the store page, 94% of the 12,892 reviews from the last 30 days are positive.
| Period | Reviews | Positive | Reviews per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15–21 October (before 2.5) | 2,701 | 95.2% | 386 |
| 22–25 October (2.5 live) | 4,621 | 92.4% | 1,155 |
| Steam most-played rank | 37th (week before) | 7th (26 October) | Daily peak 187,215 |
The small dip in the positive share comes alongside three times as many reviews per day, so on its own it does not point to a specific problem with the patch. Steam also flags past periods of off-topic review activity for this game and excludes them from the score by default.
Which smaller changes are worth knowing about?
- Saves in the Load Game menu are now grouped by playthrough, which helps if you keep several characters.
- Apartment and vehicle stashes gain item filters.
- Some hairstyles previously limited to NPCs are now available for V, a few of them only for one body type.
- Five outfit sets are sold by Maxiwear (Heywood, Arroyo, Little China), Jinguji (City Center), NetWatch (Kabuki, Japantown) and IconAmerica (Pacifica, Badlands, Northside); the NUS Infiltrator set is sold in Kabuki and Japantown.
- Fixes include the Delamain cab getting stuck after a crash and blocking quest progress, missing third-person camera controller settings, and a Switch 2 "Save failed - insufficient space" error.
- Photo Mode adds frames from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, and four TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are distributed through Twitch Drops.
What does Update 2.5 not add?
There is no New Game Plus in the patch notes, despite a 351-comment thread on r/cyberpunkgame asking about it the day before launch. There is also no new paid expansion, no change to the level cap mentioned, and no new main-story content: Clampdown and Welcome to Paradise are side quests. If a feature you have seen discussed is not in this guide, it is not in CD PROJEKT RED's notes.
This guide will be updated when the Switch 2 version of the patch lands or a 2.5 hotfix changes anything above; Gematsu's launch report has the original announcement. FAQ
How do I start the Clampdown quest in Cyberpunk 2077?
Finish the main job The Heist, then complete two gigs for the fixer Wakako Okada. After that, wait for a message from Wakako, which starts Clampdown. The quest is where you get the new five-piece gear set based on the anime character King.
How do you dual-wield in Cyberpunk 2077?
Unlock the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, added in Update 2.5. It lets V dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category, and four auxiliary perks build on it. Tech and Smart handguns are not included in CD PROJEKT RED's description.
Do mods disable achievements in Cyberpunk 2077 2.5?
On console, yes: CD PROJEKT RED says achievements and trophies cannot be earned while playing from a modded save file. Modded saves now carry their own icon in the Load Game menu, so you can keep a clean save for trophy hunting.
Is Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 out on Switch 2?
Not on 22 October. VGC and Kotaku reported that the Switch 2 version would follow the other platforms, and no Switch 2 date appears in the patch notes. The notes do include a Switch 2 fix for the "Save failed - insufficient space" error.
Does Update 2.5 add New Game Plus?
No. New Game Plus is not mentioned anywhere in CD PROJEKT RED's Update 2.5 patch notes, despite a busy r/cyberpunkgame thread asking about it. The closest change is that saves are now grouped by playthrough in the Load Game menu.
Why did FSR 3 disappear from Cyberpunk 2077's settings?
Update 2.5 removed FSR 3 upscaling. FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain, so switch to FSR 2.1 for the widest hardware support, FSR 4 if your AMD card supports it, or DLSS on an NVIDIA RTX card.
