Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Explained: New Quests, Dual-Wielding, Mods
How to start every new quest in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, how dual-wielding and Glamdocs work, what console mods mean for achievements, and what changed for FSR and DLSS.

Cyberpunk 2077 is CD PROJEKT RED's open-world action role-playing game set in Night City, a megacity run by corporations, gangs and fixers. You play V, a mercenary carrying an experimental biochip that holds the digital ghost of rockerboy Johnny Silverhand, and the story follows V's attempt to survive it. Character builds come from five attributes, perk trees and cyberware, and most missions can be approached with guns, blades, stealth or quickhacking.
The game launched on 10 December 2020 to a famously troubled reception on last-generation consoles, then spent years being rebuilt through free updates. Update 2.0 in September 2023 overhauled perks, police and cyberware, and arrived alongside the paid spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty. CD PROJEKT has since said the base game has sold 40 million copies and Phantom Liberty 15 million, as reported by VGC in October 2026.
Support has continued well past the point the studio once described as the last big update. A Nintendo Switch 2 version followed, and Update 2.5, the Edgerunners 2 Update released on 22 October 2026, added new side quests tied to the second season of the Netflix anime, dual-wielding pistols, cyberware customisation and cross-platform mod support through mod.io.
This hub collects AFK Journal's Cyberpunk 2077 coverage: update explainers built on CD PROJEKT RED's official patch notes, plus anything that changes how the game plays on PC and console. Every guide states the version it was checked against.
