First published. Prices and release dates checked on the Steam, Xbox and Nintendo stores on 4 October 2026.
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse comes in two editions: the Standard Edition at $29.99 and the Midnight Edition at $39.99, which adds an art-and-music app, two costumes and a relic. Whichever you pick, pre-ordering or buying early adds an Alucard style costume, and the game launches on 15 October on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch.
This guide is built on Konami's pre-order announcement, the official product page and the Steam, Xbox and Nintendo store listings, all checked on 4 October 2026. We have not played the game; anything not confirmed by Konami or a store is labelled as such.
What is the difference between the Standard and Midnight Editions?
The game itself is identical. The Midnight Edition only adds extras, and none of them change how much of Paris or Dracula's castle you get to explore. According to the Steam listing, the Digital Sound & Art Gallery is a separate application from the main game, with more than 100 pieces of artwork including concept art and sketches; Konami's announcement puts the soundtrack at 71 tracks.
| Content | Digital Standard | Digital Midnight | Physical Midnight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main game | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Digital Sound & Art Gallery | No | Yes | Yes |
| Trevor and Sypha style costumes | No | Yes | Yes |
| Family's Grace (relic) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Alucard style costume | Pre-order bonus | Pre-order bonus | Early purchase bonus |
| SteelBook or tarot card | No | No | Select EMEA retailers only |
The one Midnight extra that touches gameplay is Family's Grace. Konami calls it a relic, and relics are the equipment slot that, in the Steam description, triggers effects in both offence and defence. Konami has not said what Family's Grace does, so do not pay the extra $10 expecting an advantage nobody has documented.
How much does Belmont's Curse cost on each platform?
Konami has priced it as a budget release everywhere we could check. The table below lists what each store showed on the morning of 4 October; the UK Nintendo eShop was the only Switch store with a readable price.
| Store | Standard | Midnight |
|---|---|---|
| Steam (US) | $29.99 | $39.99 |
| Steam (UK) | £24.98 | £34.99 |
| Microsoft Store (US / UK / Germany) | $29.99 / £24.98 / €29.99 | — |
| Nintendo eShop (UK) | £24.98 | £34.99 |
| Microsoft Store (Japan / Australia) | ¥3,850 / A$39.95 | — |
Two details matter if you play on Microsoft hardware. Konami's announcement lists "XBOX on PC" as a separate pre-order platform, and the Microsoft Store listing carries the Xbox Play Anywhere flag, so one purchase should cover both an Xbox console and a Windows PC through the Xbox app. Steam is a separate purchase. We could not read the PlayStation Store listing, so PS5 prices are not in the table.
What is the pre-order bonus, and can you still get it after launch?
The bonus is an Alucard style costume for Rose Belmont. Konami's wording is "pre-ordering or early purchase of any of the game edition", which means the costume is not strictly limited to pre-orders: buying in the first period after launch also counts. Konami has not said when that early-purchase window closes, so if the costume matters to you, buy before or on launch day.
Physical buyers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa get two possible extras on top, but only from select retailers: a Belmont's Curse SteelBook with the Physical Midnight Edition, and a premium tarot card of Rose with exclusive art by Katsuya Terada. Konami tells buyers to check stock with their local shop, and it has not published a retailer list for other regions.

What time does Belmont's Curse unlock on 15 October?
Konami has not published a launch-time chart for the full game, so the most precise data comes from the stores. The Microsoft Store records a separate release timestamp for each market, and every one we checked falls at midnight local time on 15 October. In the US the timestamp is midnight Eastern, which means the West Coast gets it at 9pm on 14 October.
| Region | Xbox unlock (local) | Same moment in UTC |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 00:00 EDT, 15 October (21:00 PDT, 14 October) | 04:00, 15 October |
| United Kingdom | 00:00 BST, 15 October | 23:00, 14 October |
| Germany (Central Europe) | 00:00 CEST, 15 October | 22:00, 14 October |
| Japan | 00:00 JST, 15 October | 15:00, 14 October |
| Australia (Sydney) | 00:00 AEDT, 15 October | 13:00, 14 October |
| Steam (all regions) | Not confirmed; US store lists 14 October | Unknown |
Steam works differently: a game normally unlocks at one global moment rather than at local midnight. The US Steam page gives 14 October while every other store says 15 October, which fits an unlock in the evening of 14 October Pacific time. The free demo followed a similar pattern, appearing on Steam on 30 September, a day before the date Konami announced. Treat the Steam time as unconfirmed until Konami or the store shows a countdown.
Is there a Switch 2 version?
No. In June the Switch version only had a "later in 2026" window, as Gematsu reported; on 15 July Konami moved it to 15 October alongside the other platforms. It runs at 30fps on Switch, against 60fps elsewhere, according to the official product page. The UK eShop lists Switch 2 compatibility as "Supported" with no issues found, and Nintendo Life reports that the demo appears to run at 60fps on Switch 2. That is an early observation, not a measured analysis.
How big is the download, and will your PC run it?
Small, by modern standards. The official product page lists a minimum of 8 GB for the Standard Edition and 10 GB for Midnight (4 GB and 6 GB on Switch), while Steam asks for 10 GB of free space. Audio is in Japanese and English, with text in 11 languages, and the game is rated PEGI 16.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 (64-bit) | Windows 11 (64-bit) |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 | Intel Core i5-10400 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 |
| Storage | 10 GB | 10 GB |
Valve had not given the game a Steam Deck rating when we checked its compatibility data on 4 October. The demo is the cheapest way to test your hardware: it is free on every platform, and Konami says progress carries over to the full game if you stay on the same platform and account.
Which version should you actually buy?
For most players the answer is the Standard Edition on the platform you already play on, bought before or on launch day to keep the Alucard costume. Pick Xbox or the Xbox app on PC if you move between a console and a Windows PC, since Play Anywhere covers both. Pick PS5, Xbox or PC over Switch if frame rate matters, because Konami's own spec sheet halves it on Switch. Collectors in Europe should hunt for a retailer stocking the SteelBook or tarot card before 15 October, since Konami says both are limited to select shops.
