Noted Konami's PC patch 1.3.1 (30 September), which only fixes shader stutter; no length, ending or New Game Plus details change.
First published. Checked against the launch version, review playtimes, Eurogamer's endings and New Game Plus guides, and Steam review and achievement data read on 30 September 2026.
A first playthrough of Silent Hill: Townfall takes roughly 10 to 18 hours, depending on how much of St. Amelia you search. The game has five endings: three can be reached on any run, and two joke endings are locked to New Game Plus.
This guide is built from the playtimes reported in published reviews, Eurogamer's endings and New Game Plus guides, and Steam's own achievement and review data, all checked on 30 September 2026. We have not timed a playthrough ourselves. Konami's first PC patch, version 1.3.1 on 30 September, only lists a fix for shader stutter, so it does not change anything covered here.
How long is Silent Hill: Townfall?
Reviewers who finished the game report anywhere from about 10 to 18 hours for a first run. Push Square put it at roughly 10 hours, PC Gamer's reviewer spent 13 hours on normal difficulty, and both GamesRadar+ and Digital Spy needed about 18 hours.
Most of that spread is exploration. Digital Spy's 18 hours came with a heavy focus on searching everything, while GamesRadar+ suggests 12 to 15 hours if you concentrate on puzzles and pushing through areas, and 15 to 20 hours as the most common time for a first run.
| Source | Reported time | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Push Square (PS5 review) | About 10 hours | Main locales plus shorter sequences in between |
| PC Gamer (review) | 13 hours | Normal difficulty |
| GamesRadar+ (length guide) | 18 hours | First run for review; estimates 12–15 h rushing, 15–20 h typical |
| Digital Spy (review) | About 18 hours | Normal difficulty, heavy exploration |
| Pre-release previews (via Vice, July 2026) | 10–14 hours (reportedly) | Main story estimate before launch |
What do Steam players' hours say?
Steam playtime is not a completion time, but it is a useful reality check. Across the 1,000 most recent Steam reviews of Townfall (all languages, read at 08:06 UTC on 30 September 2026), the median reviewer had played 14.8 hours when they posted. 71% had played at least 10 hours, 24% at least 20, and 10% fewer than four.
Those figures sit inside the range critics reported. They also include menus, idle time, New Game Plus and unfinished runs, so they describe how long people have spent with the game rather than how long it takes to finish. For context, Steam listed Townfall at 66% positive from 4,047 reviews ("Mixed") at the time, and 1,583 people were playing it on Steam.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Median playtime when reviewing | 14.8 hours |
| Reviewers with 10+ hours | 71% |
| Reviewers with 15+ hours | 50% |
| Reviewers with 20+ hours | 24% |
| Reviewers with under 4 hours | 10% |
How many parts does Townfall have?
Townfall is split into a prologue and six parts, and the story moves between Simon, Zoe and Richard. Eurogamer's walkthrough lists them as follows:
- Prologue
- Part 1 – Simon
- Part 2 – Zoe
- Part 3 – The Patient
- Part 4 – Clara Woods
- Part 5 – Richard
- Part 6 – Simon
Konami has not published a time for each part, and we have not found a reliable per-part breakdown, so we are not giving one.

How many endings does Silent Hill: Townfall have?
Five. Director Jon McKellan confirmed the count to Polygon in July, saying the things that decide it are "all very subtle" rather than a single A-or-B choice. Eurogamer's endings guide names them and explains the triggers: three are available on any playthrough, and two are New Game Plus only.
| Ending | Available | What triggers it |
|---|---|---|
| Abandoned | Any playthrough | Kill significantly more enemies than the Discoveries (Clues and Documents) you find |
| Justice | Any playthrough | Make significantly more Discoveries than kills |
| Forever | Any playthrough | Keep kills and Discoveries at a similar level |
| Dog | New Game Plus only | Find three Coins, put each into the Bank in the area where you found it, then finish the game |
| Sci-fi-lent Hill | New Game Plus only | Open the Strange Door in Haldane Hotel for the Strange Access Card, interact with three books, then use the card on the final door |
Eurogamer calls Abandoned the ending you are most likely to see first, because the game has far more enemies than documents. Neither Eurogamer nor Konami puts a number on "significantly more", and Eurogamer suspects other actions, such as using IV Bags, may also count. Treat the kills-versus-Discoveries rule as the best tested explanation so far, not an official formula.
What carries over into New Game Plus?
New Game Plus opens up after your first completion. According to Eurogamer's New Game Plus guide, this is what changes:
- There are no new difficulty options.
- Your inventory is reset completely.
- Collectible progress is tracked across playthroughs: Strange Postcards you already found are gone, but the ones you missed are still there.
- Zoe and Richard get alternate outfits, equipped from Game Options.
- Simon and Zoe can find the Axe in Parts 1 and 2: a one-hit-kill melee weapon with no durability meter that stays with you for the rest of the run.
- The Dog and Sci-fi-lent Hill endings become available. Returning to Simon's Axe area after the Sci-fi-lent Hill ending also unlocks the Pistol 3000.
How long does it take to see every ending?
There is no official figure. GamesRadar+ estimates it could easily take 60 hours or more to see all five, but adds that it will not mean five full-length runs, because the Axe speeds up New Game Plus. Each completion ends on one ending, and two of the five need New Game Plus, so seeing them all means several runs.
There is a target for speedrunners too: the Steam achievement "Fleeting Visit" asks you to finish the game in under four hours. GamesRadar+ notes that is realistic only on a New Game Plus run.
How many players have finished Townfall?
Steam hides the descriptions of most of Townfall's 36 achievements, so we cannot say which one marks the credits. The ones with visible descriptions, or that share a name with a part or an ending, still give a rough picture of how far players get, according to Steam's global achievement stats.
| Achievement | What we know about it | Unlocked by |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome To St. Amelia | Description hidden | 88.3% |
| The Patient | Description hidden; shares its name with Part 3 | 42.1% |
| Observation | Collect 50% of all documents | 31.3% |
| Reliving A Nightmare | Complete New Game Plus (any difficulty) | 2.2% |
| Sci-fi-lent Hill | Description hidden; shares its name with an NG+ ending | 1.6% |
| Fleeting Visit | Finish the game in under 4 hours | 1.5% |
| Thorough Inspection | Collect all of the documents | 1.5% |
The fall from 88.3% to 42.1% at the achievement named after Part 3 suggests many players are still partway through, or have stopped. Townfall launched on 24 September, so expect these numbers to climb over the coming weeks.
Does the difficulty setting change the length?
Townfall has three difficulty settings (easy, normal and hard), according to Digital Spy, and New Game Plus adds no new ones. The reviewers who said which setting they used, PC Gamer and Digital Spy, played on normal. Nobody has documented how much easy or hard changes the running time, or whether difficulty affects the endings, so we are not guessing.
