Critics rate Silent Hill: Townfall 81, but only 69% of Steam reviews are positive. Konami says a PC performance patch is coming. Here's what the data shows.

Silent Hill: Townfall is a self-contained psychological horror game in Konami's Silent Hill series, developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive (known as No Code until 2025, the team behind Stories Untold and Observation) and co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. It launched on 24 September 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC, where it sells for $49.99 on Steam.
The game is set in 1996 in St. Amelia, a fictional island town on the Scottish coast. Players control Simon Ordell, who returns to the town to 'put things right' and slowly uncovers what happened there. It is played from a first-person perspective, a first for a major Silent Hill release.
Its signature tool is the CRTV, a handheld CRT television that can be tuned to track nearby monsters and help with puzzles. Critics have praised its atmosphere, setting and puzzles, while stealth sections and, on PC, performance have drawn the most complaints.
This hub collects AFK Journal's coverage of Townfall: launch news, the critics-versus-players picture from OpenCritic, Metacritic and Steam, patch updates and, once enough data exists, our evidence-based review.
