Minecraft Dungeons II is the sequel to Minecraft Dungeons, the 2020 action role-playing spin-off that swapped mining and building for loot and combat. It is developed by Mojang Studios with Double Eleven and published by Xbox Game Studios, according to its Steam listing, and launches on 29 September 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. On Xbox and PC it is also included with Game Pass.

The biggest structural change is the map. Where the first game sent players through self-contained missions, the sequel is built as one interconnected world with side quests, optional dungeons and fast travel, and it finally adds a jump button. Up to four players can team up online or on the same couch, according to Mojang.

It is also where the Sift debuts. Mojang announced at Minecraft Live in September 2026 that this new dimension will come to Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition the following year, so Dungeons II is the first place anyone can explore it.

This page collects everything AFK Journal publishes on the game: launch news, what critics and players say, and guides built on Mojang's own documentation. Every article cites its sources and states when the data was checked.
