Battlefield 6 is Electronic Arts' all-out-war shooter, released on 10 October 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It was built by Battlefield Studios, the group led by DICE with Criterion Games, Motive Studios and Ripple Effect, and returns the series to a modern-day setting with large-scale Conquest and Breakthrough matches, destructible maps and the four-class system of Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon.

Alongside the paid multiplayer and single-player campaign sits REDSEC, a free-to-play battle royale that shares weapons, progression and seasonal updates with the main game. Portal, the community mode builder, lets players create and host their own experiences, and EA counts hundreds of thousands of them.

In its first year EA delivered four seasons of content, brought back fan-favourite maps such as Railway to Golmud and Wake Island, and added naval warfare. Season 5, Siege of Vegas, opened the second year on 13 October 2026 with maps set on the Las Vegas Strip and inside Area 51. Critics rated the game higher than Steam players: Metacritic lists a Metascore of 83, while Steam user reviews sit at Mixed.

This hub collects AFK Journal's guides and news on Battlefield 6 and REDSEC: season breakdowns, patch changes, subscription availability and the dates worth knowing, each built on EA's own patch notes and announcements.
