The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 is Nintendo's remake of the 1998 Nintendo 64 adventure, due on 5 November 2026. Nintendo showed it in full at its Legend of Zelda Nintendo Direct on 8 September 2026, where it confirmed the date, as IGN reported. IGDB's summary describes it as the same story, built from the ground up for Switch 2: Ganondorf schemes to steal the Triforce from the Sacred Realm, and Link must become the Hero of Time.
It has only been announced for Switch 2. Nintendo Life's game database lists it at $69.99 (£58.99), or $59.99 (£49.99) on the Nintendo eShop, with Nintendo as developer and publisher. The original was last remade for the Nintendo 3DS as Ocarina of Time 3D in 2011.
The remake lands two weeks before Grand Theft Auto VI, and on IGDB it is the second most-followed game with a first release in November 2026, with 77 follows on 25 October against GTA VI's 1,111.
This hub collects AFK Journal's coverage of the remake: release dates and prices, what changed from the Nintendo 64 and 3DS versions once Nintendo details them, and a critics-only provisional review after launch, since the game will not be on Steam.
