God of War Laufey is the next God of War game from Santa Monica Studio, and the first in the series built around Faye rather than Kratos. Sony has dated it for 16 February 2027 on PlayStation 5, the only platform announced so far.
Faye, also known as Laufey, is Kratos's late wife and the mother of Atreus. In this game she wakes up in the Everywhen, which Santa Monica Studio describes as the afterlife of the gods, and learns that the plans she made to protect her family are at risk. According to IGDB's summary, gods from several mythologies compete for power there.
What Sony has shown of the combat so far centres on Faye's sword, magic and a new weapon, the Serpent Bow, which switches between a precise full-aim mode and a close-range hip-fire mode. Her gear is split into armour, Blade, Scales for the bow and Catalysts, each with its own perks.
