Factorio is a factory-building game from Wube Software in which you crash-land on an alien planet and automate everything: mining, smelting, assembling, logistics and, eventually, launching rockets. It left early access with version 1.0 on 14 August 2020 and is sold on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux, with a separate Nintendo Switch version.
The paid expansion Space Age arrived on 21 October 2024 alongside the free 2.0 update. It added space platforms, four new planets and the Quality system, and both the base game and the expansion are priced at $35 on Steam in the US.
Update 2.1 went stable on 23 October 2026. Wube has described it as the game's last major update, with the studio moving Factorio to long-term support: bug fixes, platform compatibility and modding features rather than new content.
