Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is a retro-styled first-person shooter from Auroch Digital, the British studio behind the 2023 original, published by Devolver Digital's Big Fan Games label. It launched on 14 October 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at $24.99 on Steam, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version announced to follow later.
The sequel keeps the first game's pixel-art look and fast, arena-based combat, but adds a second playable character: alongside the returning Ultramarine Malum Caedo, players can pick Nyra Veyrath, a Sister of Battle with a faster moveset. Auroch Digital describes a campaign of more than 30 levels across several planets, with branching routes and enemies drawn from all four Chaos gods: Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch.
Critics received it more warmly than the first Boltgun, and Steam players rate it higher still. This hub collects AFK Journal's coverage of the game: our evidence-based review, built on aggregated critic scores and Steam user reviews, and any guides or patch coverage that follow. Every figure we publish is dated and linked to its source.
