Star Wars: Galactic Racer Launches With an 88 Metascore, Star Wars' Best Since KOTOR
Galactic Racer is out on PC, PS5 and Xbox with the best Metascore for a Star Wars game since 2003. Steam players are cooler, at 78% positive on launch day.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is an arcade racing game set in the Star Wars universe, developed by Fuse Games and published by Secret Mode. It launched on 6 October 2026 on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Fuse Games, formed in 2023, describes it as its debut title, made in close collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
The single-player campaign is runs-based. Players pick a vehicle class (skimspeeder, speeder bike or landspeeder) and a Racer Style, then add abilities, parts and upgrades between races as they tour the Galactic League, an unsanctioned circuit in the Outer Rim. Each race allows a limited number of crashes; use them all and you 'wreck out', losing a League Token and returning to the start of the tour.
Alongside the campaign there are Arcade and Scenario modes, including time trials, plus online multiplayer. At launch, online parties are capped at three players; the developer said on 5 October that it plans to raise the cap to six within the first few weeks.
Critics received it very well: on launch day its headline Metacritic score was 88, the highest for a Star Wars game since Knights of the Old Republic in 2003.
