Silver Pines is a 2.5D survival horror Metroidvania developed by Wych Elm Games, a debut studio, and published by Team17. It launched on 8 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, priced at $24.99, £21.99 or €24.99 according to the developer's Steam announcement.

You play Red Walker, a private investigator sent to a half-abandoned American town to find Eddie Velvet, a musician who has vanished. The case turns into a nightmarish descent, and critics have compared its tone to David Lynch's Twin Peaks and its survival horror structure to Silent Hill and classic Resident Evil.

The game mixes side-on exploration with locked doors, hidden paths, code puzzles, scarce ammunition and a limited inventory, so new tools gradually open up more of the town. Characters are rotoscoped from filmed performances, and the monochrome look is broken by splashes of red.

This hub collects AFK Journal's coverage of Silver Pines, starting with our evidence-based review that weighs critic scores against Steam player reviews. Every claim links to its source, and we never pretend to have played the game ourselves.
