Order of the Sinking Star

Order of the Sinking Star is a top-down puzzle adventure from Thekla, Inc., the studio led by Jonathan Blow (Braid, The Witness). It launched on 8 October 2026 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 at $29.99, published on Steam by Arc Games and Gamirror Games. Thekla describes it as a decade in the making.

The game promises more than 1,000 hand-crafted puzzles spread over four worlds, each with its own heroes, mechanics and story. The worlds are reworked versions of existing indie puzzle games, among them Heroes of Sokoban, The Mirror Isles, Skipping Stones to Lonely Homes and Promesst, and their rules start to combine as the overworld map opens up.

Most puzzles are Sokoban-style grid challenges: push, pull, swap or teleport objects until the exit opens. A queen, a thief, a warrior, a wizard and a talking boat are among the playable characters, and audio notes scattered around the map build a larger mystery about the realm.
