Dragon's Dogma 2 is Capcom's open-world action RPG, released in March 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the sequel to the 2012 cult favourite. You create the Arisen, a hero whose heart was taken by a dragon, and travel the kingdoms of Vermund and Battahl with up to three Pawns: AI companions, one of them your own, the others borrowed from other players.
The game launched to strong reviews (a Metascore of 86 from 91 critics) but a divided Steam audience: its lifetime user score on Steam sits at Mixed, even though reviews written in recent months are far warmer. Capcom said in November 2025 that 4 million players had joined the adventure.
In 2026 Capcom shipped two large title updates (a reusable Eternal Ferrystone in June, more skill slots, save slots and frame-rate work in August) ahead of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expansion released on 9 October 2026. It adds the snowbound northern region of Norgan, 12 Lost Rites dungeon challenges and new vocation skills, and brings the full game to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
